BIO
Currently living in London, I have recently returned from a number of months working with a Disaster Relief NGO to help rebuild following the destruction caused by the 2015 earthquakes. During my time there, I formed part of a construction team of volunteers who worked alongside local masons to build three earthquake-resistant school buildings in the remote Sindhupalchowk region of Nepal. I was particularly captivated by the community engagement aspect of the programme and quickly became involved in the Female Masons Training Programme, teaching local masons how to read architectural drawings and help improve their English.

In addition to this physical and unique experience of design and construction, I have acquired four years of practical experience working in architectural practices in Ireland, UK and Australia, alongside and in-between my years of architectural study: completing my Masters at Cardiff University in July 2016 and Undergraduate degree at the University of Bath, July 2013.

Shaped by my experiences and involvement in architectural projects both in and out of the university environment, I have developed a social conscience that has been strengthened by both my recent time in Nepal and through involvement in the EMUVE European Research project (2016) based in Barcelona. During this time, I took part in an 'Urban Think-Tank,' studying the post-industrial district of Poble-Nou and developing a research methodology in response to a post-crisis landscape.
